Ninjas have never been so adorable as they are in this cute, well-crafted, immensely fun tower defense-style game which has you protecting a town populated entirely by, well, ninjas. With a zany variety of ninja types at your disposal (Sniper Ninja, for example, fires wasabi peas) you must use the DS’s touch-screen to smartly place your defenses to best protect the town from the advancing waves of Wee Devils. Modern Warafre 2 incorporates some amusing elements to spice things up — blowing in the DS microphone to blow the enemies away, for example. The characters — based on the wacky Shawnimal toys — are off-the-wall adorable, the writing is funny and the gaming is downright addictive.

MIDLOTHIAN, VA – September 10, 2008 - SouthPeak Games and Modern Warfare 2 announced today a special open-to-the-public three city tour for their upcoming action strategy title, Ninjatown, for Nintendo DS™. Slated to ship at the end of October, fans can get an early look at the game in San Francisco, New York City and Chicago weeks before it becomes available at special events taking place at designer toy shops. They’ll be plenty of Ninjatown gaming to be had, as well as exclusive Ninjatown items and discussions with some of the folks put the game together.

All of the venues will feature Nintendo DS’s with playable Ninjatown games and Shawnimals designer toys, including special limited edition handmade, signed and numbered Ol’ Master Ninja pocket plush*. Players will also be able to pre-order the game right then and there so they can be assured a copy when it ships. The details of the events are as follows:

Keep it Ninja NYC

Shawnimals creator Shawn Smith has created a variety of new Ninjatown-inspired works for his myplasticheart art exhibition in December including never-before-seen fabric collages. These multi-layered wall-based felt constructions will involve the same style of imagery and illustration Shawn has become known for, except in a form somewhere between sculpture and painting, similar to relief. These new works will be accompanied by smaller painted panels, and two all-new handmade special edition plush – Pocket Zombie Ninja and Super Ninja – available in limited quantities which Shawn created alongside creative collaborator Jen Brody and the Shawnimals staff.

In addition, an exclusive Keep it Ninja exhibition t-shirt will be available and the all-new Ninjatown Micro Plush blind box series from Squibbles / Rotofugi. Other Shawnimals merchandise will be available as well, like shirts, buttons, stickers, and, of course, plush.
